We Must Praise! by Sam Stutts

"Hosanna!  Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!  Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that comes in the name of the Lord!  Hosanna in the highest!" - Mark 11:9-10.  Jesus' followers were radical in their praise to Him.  The Bible tells us that His followers went before Him and behind Him crying out with loud voices in worship, singing and voicing their praise to Him.  They did this because they knew who He was and they did not care what anyone else thought of them.  How many of us are like this?  So many times we care more about what someone else thinks of us then what Jesus thinks.  We are afraid of what our families may think if we really begin to radically follow Jesus.  When something good happens in our lives, we should be quick to let others know that it is God who did it.  How many people are blessed by God but never voice their praise of God to those around them.  We should be quick to do this.  Another reason is not only to be a witness, but when we praise aloud (whether in our home, car, church, job, school) the Presence of God comes to help us, strengthen us, and encourage us in the battle.  I believe there are so many weak Christians because of a lack of praise.  Throughout scripture we see men and women in big trouble, but when they begin to praise aloud, God sends angelic forces to contend with all their enemies.  Ephesians 6 tells us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against rulers and principalities in the air.  You may be under a demonic attack from the pit of hell, but if you begin to praise God aloud these demon forces have to leave.  As children of the King we have this authority.  Not of ourselves but straight from the throne room of heaven.  So we need to realize this and then by God's grace take authority in the spirit realm.  Satan has to flee at the mention of the name of Jesus!  We must be alert and awake to the enemies schemes and remember that we are in a battle every day of our lives.  One day when we get to heaven we will be able to rest from the war, but until then help us Lord to keep our focus on You, to Praise You with all that is in us, and to always give You Praise for everything you do in our lives!  In Jesus Name!!!
