God's Presence

In the Bible in Exodus 33, we see God speaking to Moses, telling him to “go up” in verse one.  God is always calling us higher in Him.  God later tells Moses in verse 14 “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”  Almost always, the easier path is not the right path.  We see this in the children of Israel.  They never entered into the promises God has for them, because of fear, doubt, and a lack of faith.  We should never allow fear to dictate our decisions.  Fear is contagious.  If you want to walk in faith you cannot be joined too closely to those that walk in fear.  The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7 “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and a sound mind.”

Whatever God is telling you to do always requires faith, but many times we do not receive a warm and fuzzy feeling before we step out.  If we know what we are supposed to do, no matter how hard it may seem, how much persecution we may face, or how many friends we may lose, we must step out believing God to provide the faith we need.  Once we step out, then He shows up strong on our behalf and promises us that “His Presence will be with us, and give us rest.”  What more could we ask for?  To be in God’s Presence and at peace, we have nothing to fear.
